"The Fortuneteller: A Mother's Tale" is a short story written by Logan Ryder. It was first published on November 7, 2024[1] as the seventeenth story from Tales from the Boonta Eve Classic. It is the eighteenth story in the print release of the anthology.[2]

Plot summary

Shmi Skywalker, now free from slavery and married to Cliegg Lars, returns to Mos Espa with her husband to acquire parts for their farm. While Lars haggles over some power couplings, Skywalker encounters the fortuneteller, Jira, who presents her with an omen that she will see her son, Anakin again, though not without a heavy price.[3]
