"Glory Daze: The Tale of Teemto Pagalies" is a short story co-written by Admiral Byzantium and Dr. McKay. It was first published on November 17, 2024[1] as the twenty-fifth story from Tales from the Boonta Eve Classic.
Blurb
A long time ago, Teemto Pagalies was a podracer. One of the best. But he was once beaten by a boy named Anakin Skywalker. He's always had a fond memory of that child, but children grow up, and Teemto learns his memory of the child may not have reflected the man.[2]
Plot summary
Former podracer Teemto Pagalies works as a swoop mechanic in Mos Espa under his loathed boss, Ulda. When one of his clients, Birdigan (also called "Birdie"), stops by to check on her bike, she tells Pagalies about the current media circus concerning a press conference held by Senator Leia Organa Solo in which she revealed that her father, Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Vader were one in the same. However, Pagalies, having remembered the jovial young boy Skywalker was during the Boonta Eve Classic decades ago, doesn't believe her.[2]
After his shift, Pagalies revisits his recordings of the race, focusing especially on Skywalker, then spends the remainder of the night reading about Darth Vader. He later sends a private holomessage to Organa Solo on Coruscant containing a copy of the race footage.[2]
