"Source: The Jedi's Tale" is a short story written by W.E.B. Adams and Brennan C. Renwick. It was first published on November 24, 2024[1] as the twenty-eighth story from Tales from the Boonta Eve Classic. It is the seventeenth story in the print release of the anthology.[3]

Plot summary

Quinlan Vos and his apprentice, Aayla Secura, are on Tatooine to investigate and eliminate the source of a glitteryll ring plaguing Mos Espa.[2] They end up encountering the Kiffar gang responsible while in a bar; a fight ensues, ending with Secura being incapacitated and Vos captured. However, the two are quickly able to escape after learning the gang's plans. They split up, with Secura heading back to the bar and Vos heading to the Grand Arena to pursue the last member of the gang, who is delivering a bag to an outbound escape ship.

In his pursuit, Vos is attacked by Jedi-turned-Jedi Hunter Aurra Sing. After a hectic duel, he fends her off. Meanwhile, Secura brings Vos' starship over to the arena, and the pair set out in pursuit of the departing escape ship.[2]

The incident Vos recalls in which he rescues a Sneevel from being trampled by a Ronto is a direct reference to his brief appearance in "Stardust: The Tale of Boles Roor."[2][4]
