The destruction of Plett's Well was a battle in which the Galactic Empire attacked Plett's Well, forcing the Jedi to evacuate with help from clone deserters of Clan Skirata, A'Sharad Hett, and Altisian Jedi.[1]

Prelude

The Empire learned of Belsavis as the location of Plett's Well thanks to Darman Skirata, who learned it based off an offhand comment from Kal Skirata. They intended to send the Eye of Palpatine, aided by Star Destroyers Valediction and Salvation, but the Eye disappeared and disabled the Salvation in the process, leaving only Valediction to carry out the mission.[1]

The Battle

The Empire quickly bombarded the settlement on the surface, destroying the Wookiee Gunner, but So Plett and the children of the Jedi hid in the extensive underground tunnels of the Well.[1]

Upon arriving in the system, the Aay'han spotted the Valediction, and those aboard attempted to contact Margolis Mingla. They got no response, but they found Plett's Well with aid from the scanners of their Aggressor-class Starfighter. En route, they had little trouble shooting down TIE Fighters, which were poorly suited for atmospheric flight and easily messed up by the winds. The clones in the Aay'han landed and made their way into the tunnels, while the Aggressor-class kept the TIEs busy to protect it.[1]

Pellaeon ordered the use of more aerodynamic Eta-2 Starfighters and ARC-170 Starfighters, while Ameesa Darys insisted on sending a shuttle down to the ground, rooting out the Jedi in the tunnels personally. Pellaeon insisted on coming along, while giving control of the bridge to Mynar Vernedet. In the tunnels, Nor Vald and Ash Jarvee each sensed different groups of Jedi children, so they split up: Bardan, Corr, Mereel, and Atin went with Ash, while Prudii, Maze, and Arligan Zey went with Vald. Meanwhile, A'Sharad Hett aboard his Z-95 Headhunter and Hallena Devis aboard her freighter Ince arrived in the system. They, along with A'den and Kom'rk aboard their Aggressor-class Starfighter, attempted to stop Darys's descent, but they were unable to do so, and the Aggressor was destroyed.[1]

Vald and his team found So Plett with Lagan and Roganda Ismaren, and they made a plan to head for Plett's hidden hangar in the mountainside. Ash found the rest of the younglings along with Ustu and Margolis Mingla, but Ash was insistent on going back for the Ismaren children. Corr and Atin went with her as they chose to split off from Bardan, Mereel and the younglings, hoping to rendezvous with either Vald's group or the children. Bardan and Mereel's group succeeded in taking the younglings to the hangar, where Fi Skirata brought the Aay'han, and Hallena Devis landed the Ince. Mereel was extremely distraught by learning of the deaths of Kom'rk and A'den, so he had to be calmed with the Force and loaded onto the Aay'han. Bardan and Hallena went back in to go after the remaining stragglers.[1]

In the tunnels, Darys split the Imperial forces to track both Jedi parties, and one group of Imperial commandos stumbled upon Vald, Zey, Maze, Plett, Prudii and the Ismaren children. Prudii got shot and limped along following the initial skirmish, but after the Imperials broke through some crates that the Jedi had piled up as a blockade, they were attacked again. Zey telekinetically saved Maze and Prudii by pulling them out of the room, but the effort distracted him from blast deflection, and he was shot in the head. Maze and Prudii were then shot as well, but Maze lasted long enough to set off a detonator, collapsing part of the tunnel and further holding off the pursuit by the Imperial commandos. Darys's own pursuit was stalled by Nor Vald, but she quickly disarmed the Jedi Knight and decapitated him. Afterwards, she split off from Pellaeon and the commandos.[1]

Bardan and Hallena united with Ash, Atin, and Corr, who still wanted to keep looking for Plett and the Ismaren children. While they were deliberating, Darys caught up to them. She slew Atin, captured Hallena, and sliced off one of Corr's mechanical hands. However, Corr stunned her by sticking his smoldering arm into her gut, which disabled her for long enough that the others could escape aboard the Aay'han and the Ince. In space, the Valediction was unable to intervene because it was engaged with the late arrival of the Sons and Daughters of Freedom.

Pellaeon and his commandos quickly downed Master Plett with a stun bolt, and they captured the Ismaren children. In the hangar, they rendezvoused with Darys and Hallena. Darys then killed Lagan Ismaren.

Aftermath

Darman, Niner, and the other Imperial commandos arrived after the battle was over. Darman learned via his helmet's secure comlink that Clan Skirata had been evolved in evacuating the Jedi, and once he learned of Atin's death, he felt extremely guilty. Niner shot him to put him out of his misery and ensure that he wouldn't further compromise the clan.
