The Valediction was a Victory II-class Star Destroyer created at Rendili Shipyards shortly before the formation of the Galactic Empire.[1]

History

Battling Syne

TheValediction was commanded by Gilad Pellaeon, who was immediately pleased with it and used it at the Battle of Zhar. it then arrived late to the Battle of Farstine, chasing the rebels away but not in time to the protect their Immobilizer-class Cruiser, much to the dismay of Octavian Grant. Afterwards, it was outfitted high hangar bay modifications in order to hold the newly created TIE Fighters. [1]

Attack on Belsavis

The vessel was then assigned to escort the Eye of Palpatine, acting as backup if the moon failed. That was exactly what happened, since once it arrived at its rendezvous in the Moonflower Nebula, they found the Eye acting uncontrollably. Demetrius Zaarin, who oversaw its creation, demanded the Pellaeon move the ship in closer to learn more, which resulted in the disabling of the Salvation before the Eye disappeared into hyperspace. Pellaeon then decided to use the Valediction to fulfill the Eye's original mission.[1]

It succeeded in bombarding the upper levels of Plett's Well before the Jedi could evacuate, but the Jedi escaped into a network of underground tunnels. That forced Pellaeon and Inquisitor Ameesa Darys to travel down to the planet's surface while the Valediction waited in orbit. However, when the Jedi escaped with help from Clan Skirata, the Sons and Daughters of Freedom arrived to engage the Valediction and cover their escape.[1]

Blockade of Bavinyar

It was then sent to aid the Blockade of Bavinyar, where Octavian Grant intended to draw out the Bavinyar Avengers. However, the clones aboard from Delta Squad learned about how Clan Skirata had a cire for their accelerated aging, and they made a plan to hijack the ship with help from Soru.[1]
