Biography
Spying for Slayke
By 18 BBY, Devis had joined the Sons and Daughters of Freedom, though she maintained contact with Djinn Altis.[1] She also helped to establish their alliance with the Bavinyar Avengers.[1]
Reunion with Gilad
Thanks to her connections with Djinn, she was able to learn that the Galactic Empire was searching for Plett's Well. Once A'Sharad Hett learned of this, he chose to help them, and Devis joined as well, using her YT ship Ince. They arrived after the Valediction had already bombarded Plett's Well, and they skirmished with TIE Fighters in atmospheric dogfight before Devis foew into a hidden mountainside hangar. Upon learning that several were still missing, she went back into the tunnels with Bardan Jusik. While she and Bardan successfully found Ash Jarvee, Atin, and Corr, they were caught by Ameesa Darys, who captured Hallena.[1]
She was taken aboard the Valediction, where she was visited by its captain and by her former lover, Gilad Pellaeon. She asked him why he still served the Galactic Empire, and he explained that he had a duty to fulfill, and that he feared the government would get worse if people like him left it. He accused her leaving the Galactic Republic because her duty became inconvenient. At that she demanded he get out of her cell. She attempted to attack him, but he subdued her and left the cell.[1]
He returned to her cell again while handling the prisoner transfer of So Plett, when he offered to help her escape from Ameesa Darys, but she pointed out that saving her wouldn't save his conscience. Once again, they could not bridge their ideological gap, but they did embrace one another romantically before Pellaeon returned to his duties.[1]
New Life
Following her rescue, Devis had little interest in working with the Sons and Daughters of Freedom, as she wanted to be more of caretaker than a soldier. As such, she decided to join So Plett and take care of younglings with him.[1]
Personality and Traits
Devis had ebony skin and generally carried a blaster pistol.[1] After 18 BBY, she had become more pacifistic, wanting to take of people rather than be involved in warfare.[1]
