Biography
Childhood
Roganda was sheltered by the Altisian Jedi after her mother was killed by the Galactic Empire. In 18 BBY, they brought her to Plett's Well on Belsavis alongside her brother, Lagan Ismaren.[1] Not long after, it was attacked by the Galactic Empire. Their caretakers received warning from Callista Masana and Geith Eris, who then went out aboard a Y-Wing Starfighter to scout out the Moonflower Nebula, were he thought the Eye of Palpatine might be hiding. While Masana was successful in disabling the battle moon, they were still attacked by the Victory II-class Star Destroyer Valediction before they could evacuate. They ran into the tunnels, but she and Lagan got lost. Plett went out after them and found them. They were then encountered by Maze, Prudii Skirata, Arligan Zey, and Nor Vald. One by one, they sacrificed their lives to protect Plett and the children, but the Imperials kept coming. Ultimately, Plett was shot by a stun blaster, and Roganda cried over his body until she was picked up by clones.[1]
After the battle, she watched as Lagan was stabbed by Ameesa Darys.[1] She was taken up to the Valediction, which arrived at the Blockade of Bavinyar before sending her to the Majesty.[1]
At the Imperial court
At some point during her teenage years, Roganda Ismaren came to live in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, which was her only home until 4 ABY. There she had an affair with Sarcev Quest that ended badly, though Ismaren would later occasionally hold out hopes of reconciling with Quest. She also developed an affection for Drost Elegin. Her son Irek was unaware that Quest was his father, and referred to him as "the bad man" in conversation with his friend Ederlathh Pallopides. During that time, Roganda Ismaren's favorite drink was an alcoholic beverage with red and violet swirls.[3]
Post-Endor intrigues
After the Emperor's death at the Battle of Endor, Roganda Ismaren fled the palace. By late 5 ABY, she was on Belsavis with her son Irek, having abducted Nasdra Magrody, whose compliance she assured through false promises of reuniting him with his family. When Palpatine used the Kaan Heptad at the end of 5 ABY, Ismaren briefly meant to go to Byss and join the Emperor there, hoping to take up her old role in the Imperial court. However, when the Emperor died again shortly afterwards, she was freed from his compulsion and abandoned her plan.[3]
Personality and Traits
Callista Ming described Roganda as handsome and energetic like her late mother, but not as confident as her brother.[1] During her time in exile from the Imperial court, Roganda sometimes indulged in nostalgic memories and fantasies of being courted by Sarcev Quest or Drost Elegin once more.[3]
