Callista Ming is an existing Legends character.[1]
Biography
After connecting with the gunnery systems of the Leveler in 22 BBY she was reluctant to do so again and refrained from the power until using it on the Eye.[2]
In 18 BBY, Callista went with Geith Eris to bring the Ismaren children to Plett's Well. Once she found out about the Eye of Palpatine, she and Geith departed aboard a Y-Wing Starfighter to search for it in the Moonflower Nebula.[2]
Thanks to research by the Sons and Daughters of Freedom, they were able to set the Y-Wing Starfighter to transmit the IFF signal used by TIE Fighters, thus preventing the Eye from attacking them. However, they were attacked by manned TIE Fighters and forced to land inside.[2]
Using her ability to interact with its Will, she disabled cameras and evaded the squads of battle droids, making her way to its gunnery room and central computer core, where the Will drew her in. Geith was insistent on turning back to warn Djinn Altis and So Plett, but Callista knew it was futile, and the only way to save them was by disabling the Eye while onboard. She was sad to see her husband display such cowardice in the face of death, but she carried on anyway, fusing with the gunnery systems in time to watch Geith take off aboard a blastboat. Despite Callista's efforts to override the Will, Geith was shot down.[2]
She then attempted to leap up past one of the enclision grids, but her body was quickly killed, however, her spirit remained, becoming one with the Eye. She used to newfound control to briefly attack the arriving Imperial fleet, then made a hyperspace jump out of the system.[2]
Equipment
Callista carved images of the sea creatures of Chad into her lightsaber hilt.[2]
Powers and Abilities
Ming was skilled at using the Force to sense and interact with electrical impulses, giving her a knack for interacting with technology using the Force. She was Altis's best student in this regard and possibly even surpassed Altis himself.[2]
