The Imperial Palace is an existing location from Legends.[1]
Layout
Many walls and floors of the Imperial Palace had corridors hidden behind them, many of them with peepholes. When Irek Ismaren and Ederlathh Pallopides were children, they often crawled around in those corridors, which they called the "whisper stairs."
The Imperial Sanctum, in which the clone of Sate Pestage held court some time after the battle of Endor, was constructed atop a shaft that led down to the geometric center of the Palace. At the bottom of the shaft, repulsor units were installed to catch individuals jumping down from the platform above and slow them down enough for a safe landing. From there, a corridor led into Palpatine's secret lair, which consisted of several chambers marked with Sith symbols, among them the Chamber of Learning, the Chamber of Weapons, and the Chamber of Life. The Chamber of Life held six cloning cylinders, three to each side. By 4.5 ABY, one of the tanks was degraded after the clone of Sate Pestage had been decanted from it prematurely; another held the clone of Ysanne Isard; and the remaining four were empty and ready for use. In late 5 ABY, Isard had her clone removed to Lusankya and the secret lair flooded with duracrete.[3]
History
Its construction was ordered the day after the Declaration of a New Order, and it had still not been complete by at least 17 BBY.[2]
At some point in late 5 ABY, Ysanne Isard moved her offices from the Palace's lower levels to a tower overlooking Imperial City, which had a view of the main thoroughfare of Column Commons.[3]
