Azrakel
Azrakel is an existing character from Legends.[1] In ReExpanded, his original name was Qaga Lok.[2]
Biography
Azrakel was originally named Qaga Lok. After his capture by Palpatine and during his subsequent apprenticeship with Kadann, Azrakel kept his true name secret.
When Ysanne Isard sent Azrakel with Grand Admiral Makati to kill the Prophets of the Dark Side, Azrakel first killed all of the false Prophets he could find on Space Station Scardia, except for a young apprentice called Locor. He took the Glove of Darth Vader from the station and left the corpses there for Kadann to find upon his return. When the false Kadann, who was really the impostor Rajah Ubooki, returned to Scardia together with Triclops, Azrakel was aboard Makati's flagship Steadfast when Makati bombarded the space station. After Kadann's throne room had been opened to space, Azrakel descended into the destruction himself and snuffed out the life of the false Kadann using the Force.
Azrakel brought the boy Ken, who had been present in the throne room, aboard Steadfast. Having learned the location of the real Prophets from Lumiya, Makati took Steadfast to Bosthirda. During the voyage there, Azrakel instructed Ken in numerous dark side techniques, being impressed with the boy's aptitude and eagerness to learn.
When Azrakel set out for Bosthirda, Ken stowed away in his Scimitar assault bomber. The Dreaming Vineyard of Bosthirda, a sentient plant covering most of the planet's main continent, captured Azrakel's ship and delivered it to the temple of the Prophets. Azrakel ordered the boy to remain in the ship while he engaged the Prophets, but the vine caught him and immobilized him while the Prophets surrounded him. Ken was able to convince the plant to betray the Prophets and let Azrakel's lightsaber go. Azrakel sent the lightsaber to cut Jedgar's arm off, but Kadann caught his lightsaber and held it against Azrakel's throat. When Kadann was distracted by seeing Ken, whom his visions had shown on Coruscant, the vines released Azrakel. He gripped his lightsaber by the blade using the Glove of Darth Vader, wrested it ouf of Kadann's hand, and killed the Supreme Prophet. Before he died, Kadann burst Azrakel's heart with the Force.
When Lumiya and Carnor Jax arrived on Bosthirda a short while later to finish off the rest of the Prophets, Azrakel was dying. Carnor Jax cut off his hand with the Glove of Darth Vader on it, then they left him to die. With his last breath, Azrakel told Ken his true name.[2]
Legacy
Ken would adopt Azrakel's original name, Qaga Lok,[2] until he was given the Sith name Sedriss by Palpatine.[3]
