Biography

Battle of Endor

At the Battle of Endor, Etahn A'baht commanded the Dornean gunship Torktarak. Together with her sister ship, the Braha'tok under Kiles L'toth, the two ships fought as an independent Dornean unit on loan to the Rebel Alliance. During the battle, the gunships engaged the ISD Eleemosynary and proved crucial to capturing Grand Admiral Teshik. Three days after the battle, A'baht and L'toth met with Admirals Ackbar and Nantz aboard Home One, where he declared their intention to return to Dornea and remain independent, but hinted at the possibility of a closer alliance after Coruscant had been taken. A'baht and L'toth were then were shown a recording of Teshik's interrogation, in which the grand admiral claimed that the Rebel Alliance's battle was only just beginning. A'baht concluded that the war would likely reach Dornea in time as well.[2]

Yuuzhan Vong War

In the opening stages of the Yuuzhan Vong War, A'baht argued for spreading the New Republic Defense Fleet to defend every outlying system possible against the invasion. When Supreme Commander Sovv and the rest of fleet command disagreed, A'baht resigned his commission and went back to defending Dornea. However, he kept in touch with his former protegé Pollum Morano, who still captained Intrepid as part of the Fifth Fleet.

When Captain Morano found himself in a hopeless situation during the battle of Rathalay, A'baht organized a relief force of six Dornean ships, including the battleship Charnak and the gunship Zahkaran. A'baht arrived at Rathalay to find Morano dead, the New Republic chain of command in disarray, and the retired Grand Admiral Grant in de facto control of what remained of the New Republic forces, which were trapped in the system by a Yuuzhan Vong interdictor. While Grant staged a diversion to allow three Jedi apprentices to destroy the interdictor, A'baht and his first officer Kiles L'toth prepared a minijump deeper into the system, which they executed as soon as the interdiction field dropped. Their intervention allowed the remnants of the New Republic task force to escape, though it came at the cost of the Zahkaran and her crew. After bidding farewell to Morano's body and encouraging Intrepid's first officer, Floran Welby, A'baht took his ships back to protect Dornea against the Yuuzhan Vong.[3]

Funeral of Garm Bel Iblis

In 37 ABY, A'baht attended the funeral of Garm Bel Iblis aboard the Guardian in the Corellian system. A'baht had retired by this time, but in conversation with Gilad Pellaeon he revealed that he would be observing the Dornean element at the upcoming joint fleet exercise at Anaxes. Together with Pellaeon and Traest Kre'fey, A'baht toasted to Bel Iblis's dream of a galaxy at peace.[2]

Joint fleet exercise at Anaxes

One week after Bel Iblis's funeral, A'baht observed the joint fleet exercise from aboard his former command, the Charnak, now captained by Kiles L'toth's son Been.

Personal life

By 37 ABY, Etahn A'baht had never mated or had children.[2]

Personality and traits

While A'baht never regretted supporting the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic, he was less enthusiastic about it than his friend and colleague Kiles L'toth.[2]
