Sadiya Keldon was a former Jedi Padawan who served as a High General for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.[1]

Biography

Jedi Padawan

In 43 BBY, Keldon became apprenticed to Ur-Sema Du, who was a somewhat prestigious Jedi at the time, widely known as one of the more powerful Jedi Seers. Late in Keldon's time with Du, c. 38 BBY, the two of them went to Kyot to resolve a gang war. Keldon was captured and disarmed, but she used the Force to push several lieutenants of Azargro Taak towards a revolt against their leader. They ultimately killed Taak, allowing Sadiya to escape and ending the gang war.[1]

Keldon was unrepentant of her actions, which touched the Dark side by her own admission, and she demanded the Jedi explain to her why there were no negative repercussions. These questions led her to the philosophies of Leor Hal, who preached a moral relativism where the morality of actions is determined based only on their intentions and results, not the methods used. She complained that the Jedi didn't have satisfactory answers to her questions, and Djinn Altis viewed her behavior as "child-like." In 37 BBY, Keldon was expelled by the Jedi Order as a teenager over her belief in the Potentium, and she turned in her lightsaber.[1]

Return to Keldonar

"Even in peaceful times, the savages are gathering, and they will inevitably strike at some point."
―Sadiya Keldon[1]

Keldon then returned to her family on Keldonar, where they owned a farm surrounded by wilderness. She remembered these times fondly, where she was with her mother, father, Galen, and Wes Keldon. However, they were attacked by natives, who burnt down the farm and killed everyone other than Sadiya herself in c. 33 BBY. She fled the property, swearing to aid the Galactic Republic in subduing the galaxy's violent aliens.[1]

Judicial

"Kuallue, I've literally spent more time studying at the Republic's military academies than every other Jedi General combined."
―Sadiya Keldon[1]

Keldon then served for over a decade in the Galactic Republic's Judicial Forces. She described herself as having spent more time at the Republic's military academies than every other Jedi General combined.[1]

High General

"Perhaps if you had been more tolerant toward her unorthodox views, she wouldn't have gone rogue and become this present problem."
Djinn Altis[1]

During the Clone Wars, Keldon became a High General and was known for her anti-Jedi rhetoric. In the Battle of Taanab, she suffered a defeat that she attributed to intelligence leaked by Jedi knight Mewrineelee-remalior.[1] In response to these problems, Palpatine dictated that Keldon and the Jedi would no longer with with one another. Each got there own battlefields and were not allowed to interfere in the other's affairs.[1]

Battle of Bandomeer

Around day 18 of the 14th month of the Clone Wars, Keldon led an invasion of Bandomeer, preceded by a feint towards Thomquizzar. After the Separatist fleet was diverted, she led her ships to a dominant orbital victory.[1] She conquered the capital, Bandor, leading from the front lines and forcing the Babteer Pil to retreat for Selbar. Her efforts ultimately trapped them and General Grievous in the town of Selbar, earning her tremendous praise from the HoloNet News. She also used her popularity to criticize the Jedi Order, arguing that they should have less of a role within the Galactic Republic.[1]

In day 15 of month 15, she became aware of Kuallue circling around their camp, and went with 4 Clone Troopers, tracking him to Hotel 4. She accused him of planning to interfere, though she acknowledged that he hadn't done anything illegal. Ultimately, Kuallue didn't want to ally with her, and they got into a standoff that was interrupted when they were attacked by General Grievous. Keldon hid, surviving long enough until reinforcements could arrive, but Kuallue was able to escape aboard a stolen STAP. When Grievous pursued Kuallue and was shot down, Keldon eventually was able to follow them with a large force of clones. They were unable to find Grievous before TeenPat was able to send him back to Selbar tied to a Vulture Droid, but she did capture and Kuallue and bring him back to camp besh under guard.

Keldon interrogated Kuallue the next day, and she suspected that she was found so quickly because Kuallue was secretly a Separatist mole, but Kuallue was ultimately able to convince her that her frustrations were irrational. He then explained that his visions and experiences had caused him to change his mind, and that he now wanted to work with her. Sadiya saw this as a last-second attempt to flatter her, now that there was a blaster pointed at him. Kuallue insisted that his change of heart was sincere, and he opened his mind to her to let her telepathically probe him. Ultimately, she came to accept him.[1]

Working with Kuallue

"You and I have a lot more in common than you realize."
―Sadiya Keldon[1]

Sadiya invited Kuallue into her quarters in the back of an A6 Juggernaut to teach him more about her ways in the Force and to explain her past to him. She invited him to explore her mind the way that she did to him, but he turned her down as a show of trust, instead requesting her to explain aloud. She did, telling him about how here family was killed and how she was unable to prevent it, just as he was. She then asked if he was ready to make a change in order to prevent future tragedies.[1]

Sadiya then developed a habit of training with Kuallue in the early mornings, which both of them looked forward to, since neither had any chance to train with other Force-sensitives in the recent past. They would meet in the taiga near camp besh, and Kuallue devised an exercise for the two of them in which Sadiya would try to avoid objects that Kuallue threw at her, and then she could score blows by kicking or slapping his tank.[1]

Sadiya also devised an attack in which Kuallue could destroy the Valmin Water Treatment Facility, depriving the Babteer Pil of potable water. Kuallue succeeded in his mission, but he was depressed by the number of lives it cost, both clone and civilian, and he was troubled by the ethics of poisoning the Separatists' water. When he confronted her on it the next day, she explained that he needed to embrace a larger view of the Force that wasn't so beholden to the Light side. She had him embrace the Dark by lifting a well-rooted tree, forcing him to use a telepathic attack that caused the tree to wither its roots and willingly die for him. Keldon trusted Kuallue more after this event, knowing that he would do whatever was necessary to win. She also made plans to arrest CIS-leaning news outlets, such as the SetMon Somloswal. After that, she told him about the details of her final plan to destroy Selbar.[1]

Endgame

On the 2nd day of month 16, Sadiya Keldon invoked her plan, attacking Selbar with her largest offensive yet in hopes to destroy the shield generator in the city center and end the battle via a bombardment from the Kalpana. The primary attack came from east of Selbar in camp aurek, sending AT-TEs up the cliffside, but Sadiya and Kuallue were the true key to the attack, hoping to sneak behind enemy lines. They repurposed an ambulance from elsewhere on Bandomeer, removing its medical supplies to haul a large quantity of explosives. Sadiya also dressed up as a Babteer Pil medic, although Kuallue and the two Republic Commandos with them, Forr and Lio, made no effort to disguise themselves, instead waiting in the back part of the vehicle where they were obscured.[1]

The Separatists were slow to respond to the Republic's diversionary attack on their east, which was led by Commander Epsilon. They attempted to breach the 10-meter high wall with AT-TE Walkers but were repelled initially, but Sadiya's real plan used LAAT Gunships, which crashed into the wall. Two were laden with explosives, but one actually carrier her and Kuallue's fake ambulance in the passenger compartment. They ejected the airspeeder from the gunship shortly before it crashed, thus allowing them to land safely in the middle of chaos without anyone noticing. Then, they sped off behind the Separatist lines, blending in with the larger fleet of emergency vehicles that were supporting the Babteer Pil.[1]

Keldon dropped off Kuallue at the Jedlor Spaceport and waited for roughly an hour for him to reach the shield generator. After that, she had one of the Republic Commandos snipe at Grievous from the north, before she brought the speeder in to attack the south, getting underneath his biggest guns. Grievous and IG-124 were also guarding the main shield generator in the center of the town, and she engaged them in a brief duel before getting within the gate to the shield. From there, she set off a bomb to destroy the generator, leaving Selbar undefended. However, she didn't want to be caught in the blast, so she had ordered the Kalpana not to destroy the city center.[1]

Retreat

Sadiya hid behind enemy lines as the battle continued, unable to reach her subordinates, who struggled to successfully counter the fleeing Separatists. Before she could make her way out of Selbar, Kuallue was killed and the Kalpana was crashed, allowing Grievous a clear path out of the Bandomeer System. However, he chose to stand and fight, waiting for Sadiya to travel to the Vanguard and re-engage his fleet. In the brief battle that took place, Grievous's smaller fleet made no move to try to escape, and then it moved deeper into the planet's gravity well. Keldon concluded that Grievous had reinforcements about to arrive, and she ordered her fleet to retreat. She also spoke with Djinn Altis on the way out, who concluded that she was highly corrupted by the Dark side, a report that he would later forward to the Jedi High Council.[1]

Personality and Traits

Keldon had what Kuallue described as an aura with a mix of light and dark. She was extremely proud of the work that she had put in to earn a military rank, and she despised the Jedi Order over her expulsion. She also resented alien species, seeing them as generally uncivilized and barbaric, though she was willing to change her mind about alien individuals, such as Kuallue.[1]

Sadiya was a dark-haired woman with a scar on her lip, and she wore dark robes that roughly resembled those she would've worn as a Jedi Padawan.[1]
