Biography

Military service

As an Ensign in the Imperial Navy, Finnek Answeg often had disciplinary problems and saw few career prospects ahead of him. Serving under Colonel Ziske, Answeg was put in the brig multiple times, for example for knocking someone's teeth out of showing someone how to sucker punch in zero gravity.[2]

Empowerment and apprenticeship

Early in 5 ABY, the reborn Emperor had Jeng Droga bring Answeg, Ziske and another soldier to the Citadel on Byss. There, he blasted all three of them with Force lightning in an attempt to empower them with the dark side of the Force. Answeg was the only one to survive, with most of his uniform burned away and the remainder fused to his skin. Emperor Palpatine renamed him Baddon Fass and sent him to study the dark side under Ambassador Sa-Di on Coruscant.

On Coruscant, Fass was made to observe gala dinners on Sa-Di's skyhook, which aggravated him. After one dinner, during which Sa-Di revealed that Kadann's planned attack on Coruscant was not going to happen due to the false Supreme Prophet's death, Sa-Di took Fass into Coruscant's underlevels, where he encouraged him to break a load-bearing pillar, causing the Calocour Ocean to crack and drain into the undercity. In the following weeks, Fass commited further acts of mass destruction across Imperial City, in districts such as the Uscru Entertainment District and CoCo Town, aiming for maximum loss of human life. Eventually he was spotted toppling the Pom Spire by the Imperial Intelligence agent Vaartsoon, who reported his findings to Ysanne Isard and Sarcev Quest. When Fass returned to Sa-Di's skyhook, he found Quest confronting Sa-Di, who readily admitted to being Fass's mentor and assured Quest he and Fass would be leaving for Byss momentarily. Upon their departure, Sa-Di activated the self-destruction program of his skyhook, crashing it into the city below.

Fass then accompanied Sa-Di as he traveled to Prakith, where he picked up Ken from the Citadel Inquisitorius as a gift for Palpatine; and then onwards to Byss, where Fass witnessed Palpatine's use of the Kaan Heptad, the explosion of Byss' sun Beshqek, and Palpatine's death.[2]
