Force lightning is an existing Force ability from Legends.[1]
When the reborn Emperor imbued Baddon Fass with the dark side of the Force using Force lightning, the hyperspace engineer Sigit Ranth concluded that Force lightning was no mere energy discharge, but the Chaos―which Ranth also identified with hyperspace―leaking into reality.[2]
