Beshqek is an existing star from Legends.[1]
Up until late 5 ABY, Beshqek was accompanied by a blue dwarf companion. When the blue dwarf's mass was increased to the seventh power through the use of gravitational field disruptors, the blue dwarf plunged into Beshqek, increasing its mass so that it went supernova. Beshqek's explosion was only narrowly contained by Palpatine. From then on, Beshqek was the only star in the Beshqek system.[2]

The merging of the blue dwarf with Beshqek at the end of Empire of Ashes: Fear explains why Byss is said to orbit two stars in the Dark Empire Sourcebook but placed in a single-star system by Byss and the Deep Core and the Essential Atlas.[3]
