Gravitational field disruptor
The gravitational field disruptor is an existing device from Legends.[1]
Developed by Skaz Vynalez, an entrepreneur from Denon, the "GFD" went through an expedited version of the compulsory BoSS pre-market audit. It enjoyed great popularity and was available in hardware stores across the galaxy, until Leia Organa used one to kill Darth Vader's porter. As a consequence, all gravitational field disruptors were impounded by the Empire, Vynalez' Chief Technical Officer Kéral was put on trial, and Vynalez himself was visited by Darth Vader, with unknown results.
The impounded GFDs were stored on the 19th moon of the planet Lununmo in the Sullust system. During the Battle of Sullust in 5 ABY, they were retrieved by Sarcev Quest, who placed them in an armored transport shuttle that followed the forces of Sander Delvardus to the Beshqek system. There, the droids aboard the shuttle used the gravitational field disruptors to increase the mass of the blue dwarf orbiting the larger star, Beshqek, to the seventh power. As a result, the blue dwarf crashed into Beshqek, causing it to go supernova. The gravitational field disruptors were destroyed in the resulting cataclysm, which was only narrowly contained by Palpatine.[2]
