The Sack of Korriban, referred to by the Sith as the Fall of Korriban, was the first battle of the New Sith Wars. In defiance of the Senate and the Supreme Chancellor, the Jedi Order raised the Republic Navy and set off for Korriban after Darth Ruin surfaced as a new Dark Lord of the Sith.[2] In a crushing victory, the Jedi purged Ruin's Sith Academy. The Dark Lord and his commanders retreated, never to be seen again, and the Sith order was reported as destroyed to the Senate.
Leide Pall, who was appointed commander of the siege by the Jedi High Council, was intended to take control of Korriban as its Jedi Lord. However, Pall died in the siege's final stages, forcing the Jedi forces to return to Coruscant to await a new directive. After harsh reprimand by the Supreme Chancellor before the Senate, the Jedi Order instead opted to leave Korriban to its own devices, turning their attention instead to the Mandalorian threat in the Mid Rim.
