The umbrella term New Sith Wars encompasses the millennium of Jedi-Sith conflict between 2000 to 1000 BBY.[1]
While some historians[2] consider the war to have began when the Jedi Master Phanius left the Order in 2010 BBY[3], fighting did not begin until Darth Ruin's formal declaration of war ten years later.[3] The war ended exactly one thousand years later, after Darth Bane detonated a Thought Bomb during the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, wiping out the Brotherhood of Darkness and leading the Jedi to believe the Sith were destroyed.[1]
