K'uaz
K'uaz was the brother of T'iaz and one of the last Priests of Trinta.[1]
Biography
K'uaz and T'iaz traced their origins back to the world of Trinta, whose Force-sensitive population had been wiped out by the Jedi Order long ago.[1]
By 4 ABY, the brothers were old friends of Palpatine, who counted them among the few beings who were almost his equal. When Palpatine returned to life as a clone, K'uaz and T'iaz supplied him with life energies collected during their hunts on Tython, and agreed to collect more life energies from across the galaxy for Palpatine.
In late 5 ABY, K'uaz and T'iaz were among the six darksiders to whom Palpatine entrusted amulets from the Kaan Heptad, aiming to pool their powers to dominate every darksider in the galaxy. They were present in the throne room of the Emperor's Citadel on Byss, bound to Palpatine's will by the amulets, when Byss' sun Beshqek exploded and Palpatine's clone died from the exertion of containing the supernova.[1] Afterwards, they joined Mas Amedda and other servants of Palpatine in an expedition to the subterranean levels of the Citadel, where they found all of Palpatine's clones dead.[2]
Behind the scenes
While T'iaz is an established character, the similar-looking near-human with whom he is seen in Empire's End was never named. In ReExpanded, he is called K'uaz and assumed to be the near-human in the background in the Sith mausoleum scene, as well as the T'iaz lookalike who greets Luke Skywalker's party sitting in the Emperor's throne on the shuttle on Onderon.[3]
