History

Funeral of Garm Bel Iblis

The funeral of Garm Bel Iblis was held on the bridge of the Guardian in the Corellian system in 37 ABY. Bel Iblis's coffin was sent on a trajectory towards Corellia's sun from aboard Guardian.[2]

Joint fleet exercise at Anaxes

One week after Bel Iblis's funeral, Guardian formed the centerpiece of the defending side in the Galactic Alliance's joint fleet exercise with various local defense forces, under the command of Fleet Admiral Cha Niathal. Guardian's captain at the time was Captain Vremarth. Although the plan for the exercise had been for Niathal's forces to remain on the defensive, Niathal decided to bring Guardian in for a direct assault on Megador, Admiral Pellaeon's flagship on the opposing side. In the engagement between the two Super Star Destroyers, Megador would have won if the fight had been real, because Guardian's weapons complement had been reduced from the Executor-class specifications. However, for the simulated battle, it was assumed that Guardian carried its full complement of weapons. Guardian was only defeated because Pellaeon brought two Star Destroyers to bear on its opposite flank which had pulled out of the fight earlier in a ruse he had learned from Etahn A'baht at the Battle of Celanon.[2]
