The Babteer Revolt was a conflict in 196 BBY between the Babteer and Offworld Mining Corporation.[1]
The Conflict
The Babteer were able to build the city of Selbar as a revolutionary fortress, and their guerillas struck devastating blows to Offworld Mining Corporation, such as destroying Wrelpoint Foundry and exposing the corruption of Guyin Saa. Eventually, Offworld was forced to the negotiating table, and they signed a treaty viewed as favorable by the Meerians.[1]
Aftermath
Despite the Meerian's victories, it ultimately meant little in the long run. Offworld Corporation was just replaced in some areas by Vulca Minerals, and ultimately Offworld still retained significant power on Bandomeer. However, the Meerians still looked to the Babteer as heroes and insisted that conditions would be worse if not for what they accomplished. Later, the Selbar Babteer and the Babteer Pil named themselves after the Babteer.[1]
