Meerians are an existing species from Legends.[1]
Biology and Appearance
Meerians lacked the velum required to properly make 'k' and 'g' sounds, so they instead approximated them with 't' and 'd' when speaking Galactic Basic.[2]
Culture
Meerians made frequent use of hand gestures and body language, such as greeting one another by pointing up both of their palms.[2]
History
Meerians declared loyalty to Count Dooku more than ten months prior to the Clone Wars, and their world of Bandomeer was a Separatist stronghold until being conquered by the Republic in the 14th month of the war. Only the town of Selbar remained outside of Republic control, but they were ultimately able to force a retreat.[2]
