The Force Unleashed II | Choices of One |
The Force Restored is a fan fiction novel written by HandofThrawn45 (also known as Gregory O. Scott). It was first published on fanfiction.net on March 16, 2023. The novel is set in 7 months after the Battle of Yavin and serves as sequel to the game novelizations The Force Unleashed and The Force Unleashed II, forming the Force Unleashed Trilogy.
Synopsis
After destroying the Death Star, Luke Skywalker must come to terms with his newfound heroism and growing Force powers. When he learns that there was once another rebel Jedi named Starkiller, Luke sets off to learn his fate from the woman who knew him best.
To some he may be a savior, but to the Empire Luke is now a wanted man. As soon as he finds Juno Eclipse they are thrown together into a desperate struggle to escape a war-torn world and the machinations of two of the Emperor's elite Grand Admirals.
At the same time, Luke will learn about the aftermath of the Battle of Kamino, the fate of Jedi general Rahm Kota, and the buried truth behind Starkiller's final confrontation with his maker, master, and nemesis: Darth Vader.
Development
Gregory O. Scott crafted The Force Restored in response to one of the most-requested stories from the Star Wars Legends EU: an ending to The Force Unleashed. Scott had been developing ideas for a story centered on Luke Skywalker learning about Starkiller for some time, and this project finally brought those concepts together.
Although Scott had not previously written for the original trilogy era, he saw an opportunity to explore new aspects of the Imperial military, particularly some of the Empire’s lesser-known Grand Admirals. To build the narrative, Scott used the Sean Williams novelizations of The Force Unleashed and The Force Unleashed II as the primary canon for the games’ storylines, with the second novel laying groundwork for elements he expanded on in this novel.[1]
