Sunbeam

Sunbeam was a Majestic-class cruiser in the New Republic Fifth Fleet. Commanded by Captain Vatrim, Sunbeam was sent to intercept a Yuuzhan Vong Rimward offensive at Charros as part of Task Force Cloverleaf in 27 ABY. Sunbeam survived the battle of Charros, which proved to be a distraction from a larger Yuuzhan Vong invasion of nearby Rathalay. Commodore Syub Snunb took the remains of Task Force Cloverleaf to Rathalay to aid in the evacuation of the planet. In the battle of Rathalay, Sunbeam helped clear a path for the ships of the task force as they retreated from the planet after taking on refugees. When Commodore Snunb was killed, command of the task force fell to Captain Morano aboard Intrepid, but Morano ceded command to Captain Vatrim shortly before he was killed. Vatrim's command was soon usurped by the retired Grand Admiral Grant, however, whose strategy succeeded in halting the Yuuzhan Vong advance and eventually taking out the interdictor trapping them in the system. With the help of a Dornean relief force, Sunbeam and the remaining survivors of the task force were able to escape the system.
