The battle of Tyan is an existing battle from Legends.[1]
Background
Admiral Pellaeon had deployed one of the few remaining World Devastators on the planet Tyan, to harvest raw materials from the planet's unpopulated areas and convert them into useful material.[2]
The battle
In the course of the Orinda campaign, the New Republic sent Lusankya under the command of Wedge Antilles to destroy the World Devastator on Tyan. Rogue Squadron, commanded by Tycho Celchu, deployed from Lusankya to protect a trio of sensor ships that pinpointed the World Devastator so Lusankya could move in for bombardment. Rogue Squadron fought off squadrons of TIE/d automated starfighters, losing the pilot Beledeez in the engagement.
While Lusankya bombarded the Devastator, the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing, stationed on Relentless, attacked Lusankya's bridge in turn. Mynar Devis, flying as Red Leader with the 181st, took out Lusankya's bridge shields moments before Lusankya destroyed the World Devastator's repulsors, sending it crashing to the planet. An automated TIE/d crashed into the Lusankya's bridge tower immediately afterwards, in a maneuver planned by the 181st's commander Turr Phennir and inspired by Arvel Crynyd's successful suicide run on the Executor eight years prior. However, the TIE/d only damaged two decks, leaving the bridge intact.
Admiral Pellaeon arrived in the system aboard Reaper moments later. He ordered the 181st to regroup for another attack run on Lusankya and brought in Reaper to attack the New Republic's Super Star Destroyer, but Antilles took the damaged Lusankya out of the system and retreated to Qiilura for repairs.[2]
