Totten Squad was a squad of Republic Commandos.[1]
History
Totten Squad was one of the few RC squads not trained by a Mandalorian. They grew tired of how everyone assumed them to be Mandalorians, and they also developed a desire to prove themselves as being just as good as the Mando squads.[1]
Totten Squad was deployed at the Battle of Jabiim, which they survived without a casualty despite the devastating defeat overall. On Jabiim, they handled a job similar to assaulting a reactor.
While non-Mando RC squads had much higher casualty rates on average, Totten Squad defied the trend, never losing a single member until at least 32 ABG, when the joined reinforcements in the Siege of Saleucami.[1]
Saleucami
Totten Squad went with Maze in a gunship that snuck into Sagujeru, where they aided various feints in order to support Heke's plan to disable the shields with a computer bug. When that failed, they and Maze changed plans to focus on assaulting the Ion Cannons.[1] Maze and Totten Squad went after the 5 ion cannons on the ridge to the north, while Heke's group attacked the magma reactor directly.
Both teams ultimately succeeded, and Maze are his men were able to take control of three ion cannons that they used to disable several HMP Droid Gunships.[1] Once the dogfight between arriving Republic gunships and the Droid gunships became more chaotic, they abandoned the guns, as they were just as likely to cause friendly fire.[1] They then found and attempted to snipe at Tol Skorr, but he turned the tables on them and nearly killed them before they were saved by an LAAT/i Gunship.[1]
Case remarked after the battle that although he and Maze had their disagreements, seeing how effective Maze was proved to be a good learning experience, and that they would implement some of his tactics in the future.[1]
Description
The group was fairly insular and not too friendly towards other clones, particularly the Mandos.[1] They painted their armor a dull bronze.[1]
