The Nightsisters are an existing sect from Legends.[1]
History
During the Galactic Civil War, the Nightsister Gethzerion embarked on a quest to restore the Nightsisters to the power of Mother Talzin's time. To that end, she sent Nightsisters offworld to gather resources and influence in order to help the Nightsisters conquer the galaxy eventually. When the Emperor realized the extent of her plans, he put Dathomir under interdiction, but some Nightsisters, such as Silri, continued working towards Gethzerion's plan, occasionally communicating with Gethzerion via the spirit world.[2]
