History
In 9 ABY, during the Thrawn campaign, New Republic Intelligence tracked the ship thief Niles Ferrier to the Kemal Ring, a floating station hidden in the upper layers of the gas giant Kemal. An attempt to capture him resulted in the Battle of Kemal between forces loyal to Grand Admiral Thrawn and New Republic forces including elements from Garm Bel Iblis' faction, which had recently allied with the New Republic.[2]
