Protection Detail is a novella by Ulron, published in 2025. As part of the Hyperion Squad series, it focuses on the adventures of the clone troopers of Hyperion Squad while they are assigned to escort two senators from Coruscant to their home sectors.
The novella was accepted into the ReExpanded canon on February 4, 2026.[1]

Plot synopsis
General Iri Camas, Republic Director of Special Forces, assigns Hyperion Squad as a protection detail to escort Senators Silya Shessaun of the Thesme sector and Bruenor Kymeri of the Belsmuth sector from Coruscant back to their homeworlds. Shortly after embarking aboard the Point of Light, the clones and Senators are ambushed by a band of Zygerrian slavers accompanied by Separatist battle droids and droidekas. Hyperion Squad's demolitions expert, Destroyer, separated from the rest of his squad alongside Senator Kymeri's aide, Ketya, is the only member of his company to not be subdued by the slavers. To keep Ketya safe, he leads a one-man assault on the Zygerrian's ship.
Aboard the slaver ship, Destroyer and Ketya encounter and free the Devaronian Vilmarh Grahrk, whom the Zygerrians have taken prisoner. Together, the three are able to overpower the few Zygerrians and droids still aboard the vessel and take the bridge. With the brunt of the slavers taken care of, Destroyer, Ketya, and Grahrk return to the Point of Light, where they confront the Zygerrian's leaders. Despite the Zygerrians attempting to use the rest of Destroyer's squad as hostages, he is able to subdue them and free the clones, Senators, and senate guards.
Senators Kymeri and Shessaun laud the members of Hyperion Squad with awards and honors. Meanwhile, Grahrk, having been promised the Zygerrian's ship in exchange for his aid, departs with his droid. Destroyer and Ketya meet in his chambers and begin a romantic relationship.[3]
