Ket Maliss was a Dashade assassin active during the Galactic Civil War. Maliss was the last of the thirty-eight Dashade shadowkillers cryogenically frozen by the Falleen House Sizhran, and was himself employed by Black Sun's leader, Prince Xizor.

Biography

Maliss was present at the Mos Eisley cantina shortly before the Battle of Yavin, where he witnessed a confrontation between Cornelius Evazan, Ponda Baba, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was again present in Mos Eisley several months later, drinking with several patrons until the Empire enacted a system-wide curfew and he was ousted by the bartender, Ackmena.

Behind the scenes

Maliss was initially a masked alien extra designed for the Star Wars Holiday Special. Later sources identified him as a Dashade; he was later retconned into being the last of the thirty-eight shadowkillers. Footage of Maliss was used in the "Star Friends" promotional PSA against drunk driving.
