Bes was a Besilisk male in service to Durgulla the Fat.[1]
Biography
Bes served as the trainer and overseer of Durgulla the Fat's guards. He employed mostly Chevins to give the appearance of strength.
When Durgulla was ousted by his brother Urga, Bes was spared but left without employment.[2] He retreated to his apartment—originally given to him by Durgulla as a reward—and spent his days alternating between drinking at the Frisky Dug[3] and awaiting his inevitable death within the walls of his apartment. When Lynora Feldt arrived at his apartment, Bes first tried to kill her, believing she had been sent by Urga to clear him out.[2] However, after realizing he had met her at the Frisky Dug the day before, he chooses to spare her, instead tasking her with getting revenge on Urga and his underlings.[2]
Personality and Traits
Marcus Kregg considered Bes to be nothing more than a lazy drunk.[4] Nonetheless, Durgulla valued Bes as a servant, and bestowed upon him an apartment as a token of his esteem.
While in Durgulla's court, Bes opted to hire beings based on the appearance of strength rather than actual ability, given the relative climate of peace on Nar Shaddaa. For this reason, he was spared by Urga, who viewed it as an act of self-inflicted sabotage.
Bes bore a vindictive streak; this was further incensed in the aftermath of Durgulla's overthrow.[2] He turned increasingly to drink in the days that followed the Hutt Cartel's return.[3]
