Irek Ismaren is an existing character from Legends.

During his youth in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, Irek befriended Palpatine's great-niece Ederlathh Pallopides. Together, Irek and Ederlathh explored the crawlspaces behind the walls of the Palace, which they called the "whisper stairs," and spied on the adults from there. Irek thought of his biological father, Sarcev Quest, as a "bad man."

After Irek's mother spirited him away to Belsavis shortly after the Battle of Endor, Quest found himself missing the children's presence in the Palace, including Irek's.

In late 5 ABY, Irek's mother Roganda Ismaren suddenly decided to take Irek and the captured scientist Nasdra Magrody away from Belsavis and back to the Imperial Court. However, that decision was the result of Palpatine compelling all darksiders in the galaxy to serve him through his use of the Kaan Heptad, and when Palpatine's clone died soon after, the compulsion ended, presumably rendering Roganda's travel plans moot.
